Maple Syrup Investigation

Report on Maple Sugar Tapping on island:

Jim has tapped five local maple trees to test out the new equipment to hand.
We missed our maple sugar "window", however, as it turns out that Nov-Dec is the time to tap the trees. So to date, we have only half a litre of sap, which would boil down to about 1/2 a tablespoon of syrup, but what ho! It's all educational!
Next year we hope to give it a try at the correct time of year!
Thanks to those who are helping with this project!
So fun to explore our Canadian Heritage! :>)

If you want to print out a copy of this picture in black and white, you can get one from Marg by email in pdf. (group copy was sent out.)
This looks like it's going to be a great year!
We're full o' beans!
Happy seed starting!
